In Austria, the 2 G rule applies for winter. This means that guests must be either fully vaccinated (up to 9 months after the 2nd vaccination) or have recovered from the virus (6 months after recovery). Regular testing is no longer permitted for guests who do not meet the requirements above.

In the event of quarantine regulations here or in your country, a positive Covid-19 test or a border closure,  free cancellation is possible for all visitors until the planned arrival day.

There is no refund for meals not taken. We recommend the European insurance  which include also a cancellation in case of Covid-19 (includes Covid-19 symptoms too). You will find more information at the end of this page.

All other cancellation reasons:

Up to 14 days before arrival no cancellation fee, 14 days to 4 days before arrival 50% of the room rate, 3 days to day of arrival, no show, late arrival, early departure 100% of the room rate.

Christmas/New Year: No cancellation fee until 15.11.2021 before arrival, 16.11.2021 until 11 days before arrival 50% of the room rate, 10 days until arrival, no show, late arrival, early departure 100% of the room rate.

There is no reimbursement for meals not consumed.


Austria has a lockdown for everyone until 12.12. 2021. After that, everything is open again and you can spend your holiday with us without any problems if you are vaccinated or recovered (2G rule).

The lockdown AFTER 12.12.2021 in Austria: Applies exclusively to all “only TESTED” persons. There is no lockdown for children up to 17 years, vaccinated and recovered persons.

For trouble-free entry into Austria and during your stay the following health regulations apply:

Vaccinated: Just show your vaccination card or app (valid up to 9 months after the 2nd vaccination). Nothing else. There is nothing more to do in this respect during your stay.

Recovered (up to 6 months after the illness): Otherwise nothing more. Even during your stay there is nothing more to do in this respect.

Regular testing is no longer an option for visitors to Austria who  must meet either of the requirements above.

An FFP2 mask is mandatory:

  • in all shops
  • in public transport, its surroundings + buildings (e.g. churches, train and regional buses incl. stops, cable car to Rosshütte, taxia etc.)
  •  in food retailers (including sales outlets of food producers, petrol stations, tobacconists, etc. where food sales are available)
  •  In supermarkets, banks, post offices as well as pharmacies and doctors’ surgeries
  •  in general trade and business

Masks are not required in hotels, cafés, restaurants etc. If you do not have a FFP2 mask with you, you can obtain one at reception.

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have taken additional safety and hygiene measures to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. Certain services and facilities may therefore not be available or may be limited.

At what age do children need to have a PCR test result?

According to current information, no tests or similar are required up to the age of 12.  This applies to entry, accommodation, catering establishments, leisure facilities (except outdoor) and events. For children 12 – 17 years a PCR test is necessary or a vaccination or convalescence.
